Archaeologists to Discover the North East of England

The 5th International Landscape Archaeology Conference (LAC) will take place from 17-20 September 2018 in the North East of England for the first time. Organised jointly by the McCord Centre for Landscape at Newcastle University and Durham University, the conference will enjoy the expertise of the two universities sharing their long traditions of archaeological research and training.

LAC is a biennial series of conferences run by the International Association of Landscape Archaeology (IALA) and around 300 participants are expected to attend from over 35 countries. The conference will cover topics across the archaeological spectrum, from long-established approaches to innovative new ideas, with important keynote speakers and an interesting diversity of scientific sessions.

The region is a perfect fit for such a conference as it is rich in Roman and Anglo-Saxon archaeology.
