The New Convention Centre in Halifax

The new Halifax Convention Centre, part of the innovative Nova Centre, opened its doors in December 2017. Some 800,000 guests are expected to visit the new facility, which boasts the title of the largest green building in the region. The structure has incorporated the latest technology and the highest environmental standards as a LEED Gold certified facility.

More than 11,000 sqm of flexible event space are available to associations for their conferences, including a ballroom and an atrium arrival area. The new centre goes further by organising a ‘pop-up’ program in the centre’s public spaces to showcase authentically local products and experiences to conference attendees.

Ninety events are already booked for the facility’s first year of operations, including 44 national and international conventions, for instance  the 2018 International Conference on Residency Education and the International Conference on Power Control and Optimasation.
