The Greater Bogota Convention Bureau represented Bogota at the United Nations, in their New York City Headquarters, in the panel “SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) and the cities”. On February 22, during one of the largest annual meetings of the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) called “2019 Global Engagement Summit”, a representative of the city of Bogota presented the social initiative Synergies for Change within the panel “The SDGs and The Cities”. The initiative was launched last year and its currently working with six Colombian social businesses. Furthermore, with this synergy the Bureau its contributing to seven Sustainable Development Goals.
The event brought together more than 1,000 university students and US community leaders whose purpose is to deepen the mission and work of the United Nations. In the same way, it unites these American change-makers with world leaders, to empower them with the purpose of improving their work within the communities of the whole country. Some of the topics included in the agenda are related to the Sustainable Development Goals such as Conflict Resolution and Humanitarian Responsibility, Nuclear Non-Proliferation, Shared Actions for Human Rights, Cities and SDGs, and Reaching Zero Hunger.
