The 30th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) will be hosted by the Palais des congrès de Montréal in 2021 attracting nearly 3,000 experts from all over the world. This scientific field is developing fast in the city, thus attracting the international convention.
Montréal was awarded the convention during the 2017 edition of the event in Melbourne last August, thanks to the work and support from the business development team and Montreal universities and the funding from Tourisme Montréal.
Recognising the need to establish Quebec’s position as an AI hub, the Université de Montréal, Fonds de recherche du Québec and Palais des congrès de Montréal joined forces to create the new Forum on the Socially Responsible Development of Artificial Intelligence, which will take place November 2 and 3 at the Palais. The Forum will discuss the ethical and socially responsible development of AI with keynote speakers ranging from pure science to the humanities and social sciences, such as Yoshua Bengio and Yochai Benkler to name but a few.
