The Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau (TCVB) has announced that Tokyo has placed the winning bid to host the 7th Asian and Oceanian Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Congress (AOPMC) at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba on March 18-20, 2021. AOPMC 2021, the second such gathering to be held in Japan, is anticipated to lead to future breakthroughs in Parkinson disease and other movement disorder research, and is expected to attract over 1,200 specialists from more than 30 countries.
Coinciding with the AOPMC, the 13th International Symposium of the Asian and Pacific Parkinsonism Association (APPA) will also be held in the Japanese capital. The APPA Symposium will offer an in-depth look at the latest trends in the treatment of movement disorders, and will provide local patients and their caregivers with a unique opportunity to learn from world-renowned physicians.
The convening of this congress in Tokyo – the centre of academic activities of many research-oriented societies, will have a significant impact on academia in Japan as well as in neighbouring Asian and Oceanian countries.
