Young Leaders Share Their Views With the World in Tokyo

The Tokyo Convention  & Visitors Bureau (TCVB) announced that Tokyo has been chosen as the host city of the 12th One Young World Summit to be held in late September in 2021.

The 2021 One Young World Summit is expected to attract more than 2,000 young leaders from over 190 countries around the world, in addition to approximately 200-250 delegates from Japan. These delegates will engage in debating, formulating, and sharing innovative solutions for today’s most pressing issues together with some of the world’s most respected and innovative global leaders intent on inspiring positive change.

Kate Robertson, co-founder, One Young World said: “Ahead of next year’s Olympic and Paralympic games, Japan has looked at a more sustainable approach, reducing their plastic waste, and recycling old mobile phones and small electronic devices to produce 5,000 medals for the games. With less than nine year’s left to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals, we are eager to focus the 2021 Summit on leveraging the work we are doing, and will continue to do, with our partners and sponsors to push for meaningful change.”
