An Eye-opener Conference in Malaysia

2nd March 2023

A bidding collaboration between Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmologist (MSO) brought the 38th Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO 2023) to the country.

Held last week at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the major event attracted a total of 4,500 attendees, including 3,800 international delegates. Ease of access at the airport was important, as the international guests were offered the Malaysia Business Events Special Immigration Lane for faster controls.

The doctors were given the opportunity to share and exchange new concepts, advanced technologies, latest treatments, as well as ophthalmologists’ common interest of specific eye diseases in Asia and Malaysia.

“APAO 2023 is projected to boost Malaysian economy and maximise Malaysia’s growth potential as a knowledge and creative economy,” said Dato’ Sri Dr. Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB. “This congress provides an ideal platform for our local experts to gain valuable insights and share best practices from their international counterparts, while at the same time allows us to showcase Malaysia’s credibility as a business events hub and an ideal tourism destination.”
