The Athens’ evaluation process by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) gave the city a score of 86%. The process started in January 2021with stakeholders making more than 111 visits in all areas of interest. The Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) received recognition for its role in managing and promoting the destination, while projects like pocket parks and the Athens Film Office were also praised.
The city’s official certification as a sustainable destination is the next step for the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA).
