Berlin’s Medical Congress Pipeline Gains EULAR 2027

19th June 2026

Berlin will host the EULAR 2027 Congress from 9 to 12 June 2027, bringing around 14,000 international rheumatology specialists to the German capital.

The congress of the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology is one of the world’s most important events in its field, connecting doctors, researchers, healthcare professionals, people with arthritis and rheumatism, and industry representatives. The 2027 edition will take place at Messe Berlin, following a successful bid by visitBerlin’s Berlin Convention Office and Messe Berlin.

Burkhard Kieker, CEO of visitBerlin, said: “Once again, through a joint effort with Messe Berlin, we have succeeded in bringing one of Europe’s major conferences to Berlin.” He added that the win confirms Berlin’s strength in medical congresses and will generate significant value for the visitor economy.

Dr Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin, said the award shows how sought-after Berlin is for international meetings, particularly in healthcare. He also pointed to the development of dock9, Messe Berlin’s new convention centre, as part of the city’s expanding congress infrastructure.

EULAR was previously held in Berlin in 2012, when it attracted around 12,000 participants. The 2027 programme will feature more than 200 sessions, including scientific presentations, workshops, continuing education, networking formats and a specialist exhibition. The congress will also mark EULAR’s 80th anniversary.

The win strengthens Berlin’s position as a destination for medical and scientific events, adding to a congress calendar that includes the World Health Summit, Neurowoche, the German Congress of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery, and the European Headache Congress.
