How Storytelling Can Enhance Fundraising

This Destination DC-sponsored Boardroom MiniCourse explores the importance of storytelling.

Storytelling can indeed paint a picture for people who may not experience your work firsthand, connect people with your organization or brand, and make donors more committed to your work while enabling them to make an impact.

This MiniCourse is delivered by Lynn Marie Croneberger and Lauren Centrella, from WAMU, the leading public radio station for NPR news and information in the greater Washington D.C. area.

Lynn Marie Croneberger is chief development officer for WAMU. She provides leadership and direction for the station’s comprehensive philanthropic revenue program. She oversees a team of development and membership professionals who are responsible for digital fundraising, direct response programs, major gifts, planned giving and institutional giving. Croneberger is a certified fundraising professional and was the 2018 Outstanding Fundraiser of the Year for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Lauren Centrella, the Director of Development at WAMU, is a results-oriented fundraising professional with over 10 years of progressive responsibility and experience, focused on building and maintaining successful relationships and social responsibility. Through thoughtful and personalized cultivation and stewardship, Lauren has raised over $51M, including several $1M+ grants and multi-year commitments, from high net-worth individuals and some of the nation’s largest and well-known charities, companies and organizations.
