Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai will host the 10th edition of the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) World Congress from 23-25 September at Madinat Jumeirah.
This year’s event, themed ‘Zones and the Shifting Global Economic Structures – Unlocking New Investment Avenues,’ marks the 10th anniversary of the World FZO and the second consecutive year Dubai has hosted the congress.
Gathering over 2,000 global and regional business leaders, free zone officials, and experts from more than 100 countries, the congress will explore the vital role of economic zones in global trade, which currently accounts for more than a third of global trade flows.
Attendees will discuss critical themes such as foreign investment, the digital economy, and innovative technologies like Artificial Intelligence, as well as their impact on national economies and trade.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of the World FZO, emphasised Dubai’s commitment to advancing the global system of economic zones, aligning with the Emirate’s goal to double foreign trade and establish trade corridors with 400 new cities by 2033 as part of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
“The congress aims to expand its focus to include modern economic sectors that embrace Artificial Intelligence, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and advanced technology. This supports the establishment of national economies based on knowledge and innovation, ultimately contributing effectively to comprehensive growth and prosperity in the global economy,” he said.
