The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), in partnership with Welcome Brain Consulting and the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO), has launched the Neurodiversity in Events Toolkit, a pioneering resource designed to embed meaningful inclusivity into the fabric of the events sector.
With around 20% of the population identifying as neurodivergent, the toolkit provides clear, practical guidance for creating events where all participants – whether attendees, speakers, or organisers – can fully engage.
“This is about raising the bar for inclusion across the sector,” said Gayle McGuinn, Head of Association Sales at EICC. “By designing events with neurodiversity in mind, we’re not only creating fairer spaces but also unlocking new ideas and richer dialogue.”
The initiative reflects the EICC’s longstanding commitment to inclusive practices and responds to growing industry calls for clearer standards around accessibility and diversity.
ABPCO Association Director Heather Lishman welcomed the resource, saying: “Our members now have a valuable, actionable tool to support their commitment to delivering genuinely inclusive events.”
