Services provided to members are central to any association’s activities, and these can vary greatly depending on the sector, culture, and needs of its members. While an association’s strategy and governance structure used to be more static, the fast-paced environment and evolving member demands require rethinking offerings, organizational structures, and staff retention strategies.
Trade associations and professional societies have historically held differing views on which services to outsource versus keeping in-house, with decisions often influenced by the type of service and resources available.
In this first collaboration between AC Forum and the European Society of Association Executives, the pros and cons of outsourcing versus in-house functions will be explored.
This discussion will be especially valuable for association leaders, including CEOs, Secretary Generals, Managing Directors, their deputies, and top management teams in European and international associations, as well as Heads of Operations, HR, and Public Affairs.
