Geneva Reports Record Year for Association Congress Wins

11th February 2026

Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation has reported a significant rise in congress acquisition for 2025, with 43 confirmed association events – a 39% increase on the previous year – expected to attract over 36,000 delegates and generate nearly 112,000 overnight stays.

The results were celebrated at the Ambassador Dinner on 5 February at the Geneva Marriott Hotel, where four awards were presented to key contributors from the academic, medical and legal sectors.

“These results reflect renewed confidence in Geneva as a congress destination,” said Alain Pittet, Director of the Geneva Convention Bureau“Our stability, global reach and experience in hosting major international events continue to resonate with association leaders.”

In 2025, the Bureau expanded its team, launched Geneva Association Days, and released new tools including the Geneva Responsible Events Guide. Partnerships with IAPCO and ESAE further strengthened Geneva’s international positioning.

Awards recognised initiatives such as Geneva International Legal Week, major science congresses on volcanology and cosmic rays, and Geneva University Hospitals’ role in the 2025 World Hospital Congress.
