Starting in January 2023, Mohamed Mezghani will be the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) ‘s Secretary General for another five years.
As Secretary General, Mohamed has made it a priority to widen the scope of public transport beyond mass transport, with a vision to embrace on-demand and shared mobility solutions, to offer door-to-door transport to the end consumer.
“I’m proud of the accomplishments of the association in the past five years, which would not have been possible without the excellent collaborations between our diligent staff and engaged members. In my coming mandate, I will aim to enhance the membership experience, ensure staff wellbeing, and make the association more resilient while continuing to advocate for public transport and sustainable mobility,” said Mohamed Mezghani, UITP Secretary General.
Under his leadership, the association has grown in membership and recognition, with achievements like effective response during the pandemic, the People First Strategy and Gender Balance policies.
