Maastricht has been selected to host NetSci 2025, the major international conference of the Network Science Society.
The five-day event will take place from 2-6 June 2025 at the MECC Maastricht, drawing over 800 global experts in network science, a discipline impacting fields from computer science and neuroscience to social sciences and the arts.
Maastricht’s successful bid was led by Leto Peel and Adriana Iamnitchi from Maastricht University, whose cross-border collaboration with academic institutions in Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands was instrumental in securing the conference.
“Our region’s strong ties with international partners were crucial. Maastricht’s central location and its interdisciplinary approach make it the ideal place to host such a diverse and innovative conference,” said Peel, talking about the significance of the event for the university and the wider region.
From local partners like MECC Maastricht, PCO Klinkhamer Conferences & Events, and the Maastricht Convention Bureau, to universities and research centres abroad, this event is a testament to the power of cross border collaboration.
