The Silesian Voivodeship, located in the southern part of Poland, now has its own convention bureau.
Operating within the Silesian Tourist Organisation, the Silesia CVB has been created to promote business events in the region and boost the local economy.
During the inaugural conference of the Silesia Convention Bureau at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów an agreement was signed with the first eighteen consortium members which include representatives from the world of science, large and small businesses, representing diverse services and individual sub-regions of the Silesian Voivodeship.
With a rich cultural heritage, potential for post-industrial urban regeneration and numerous natural reserves, the region has a lot to offer. Furthermore, emerging business hotels, large conference and sports facilities (all accessible by a good transport system) make the region attractive to associations for their events.
“Thanks to the activity of the Silesia Convention Bureau, hotels, restaurants, operators of tourist attractions, and congress venues will benefit, as they will
receive comprehensive information and tourist offer of each sub-region. Finally, the whole region will benefit from being positioned as an attractive destination in the business tourism sector. The functioning of the Silesia CVB will bring many benefits,” said Adam Wawoczny, CEO of the Silesian Tourist Organisation.
