Western Australia has secured the 18th Greenhouse Gas Control Technology Conference (GHGT-18), a global event on carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) technologies.
Scheduled for 2026 in Perth, this conference will gather over 1,000 researchers, industry leaders, government officials, and business representatives to advance CCUS technology.
Returning to Australia for the first time since 2018, GHGT-18 provides Western Australia a unique platform to showcase its leadership in climate innovation and boost the economy through international visitation.
WA Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti said: “Events like GHGT-18 not only drive economic benefits but enhance Western Australia’s global reputation.”
Gareth Martin, CEO of Business Events Perth, added: “GHGT-18 will serve as a catalyst for collaboration and knowledge exchange, continuing to position Western Australia as a global destination for valuable business events that attract high yield business travellers.”
Co-hosted by Australian Energy Producers, CSIRO, CO2CRC, and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water, GHGT-18 will foster vital collaboration on global climate goals.
