default For international congresses, digital infrastructure is now as fundamental as meeting rooms and exhibition space. Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center has formalised that part of its offer by becoming the first convention centre in ASEAN to receive ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification.
The international standard confirms that QSNCC operates a structured Information Security Management System covering its data centre, core IT systems, identity and access controls, and wired and wireless networks for clients.
In practical terms, it focuses on three essentials: keeping information confidential, protecting its accuracy and ensuring systems remain available. The certification, assessed by BSI Group Thailand, also requires ongoing risk management and continuous improvement.
“Information security is therefore not simply about preventing data breaches,” said QSNCC CEO Surapol Utintu. “It also means maintaining data integrity and ensuring that systems and services remain continuously available.”
The timing is significant. From 12 to 18 October 2026, QSNCC will host the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group, bringing a global event with intensive connectivity, operational and security requirements back to Bangkok.
The new accreditation joins QSNCC’s existing standards covering quality, food safety, sustainable event management and organisational carbon reporting.
