Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) announced that Sarawak has been chosen to host the International World Water Congress and Exhibition in 2028, following a successful bid presented in Bordeaux, France.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Malaysia and the Asian region, coinciding with the 60th Malaysia Day celebration.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg highlighted the event’s significance in positioning Sarawak as a regional hub for sustainability and innovation in the global water industry.
The congress is expected to draw 10,000 participants from 80 countries, promising substantial economic benefits. It will be held at the newly expanded Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
The International World Water Congress in 2028 will underscore Malaysia’s commitment to water management and regional collaboration, leaving a lasting legacy for the ASEAN community.
