Partnership was a key factor for winning the the 64th ISI World Statistics Congress, Ottawa Tourism announced.
Set to take place from 16-20 July 2023, the major event will attract 2,000 delegates at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa.
Throughout the bid process Ottawa sought a number of ways to add significant partnership value to the client association and delegates, including support with their opening reception, digital signage at key transport hubs such as the airport and complimentary Light Rail Transit passes for all delegates.
Ottawa Tourism’s, Vice President, Meetings and Major Events, Lesley Mackay says: “Not only does this event represent a great piece of business for the city, it also truly demonstrates once again the power of working in partnership with clients and other organisations throughout the industry. As a team we sought as many different creative ways as possible to support the local bid team and help them bring the event to Ottawa – working with The Hague to support their need to move dates due to COVID was a pleasure and shows what we can all do when we work together.”
