The Main Media Center of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics is being transformed into China’s premier international convention center.
The China National Convention Center, Phase 2 (CNCC-II) is scheduled to open in early 2025 as a smart venue boasting the latest technological innovations a building can offer.
“Technology will be central to every interaction at CNCCII – from marketing & selling the center to planning & hosting events to the ultimate visitor experience,” says Rod Kamleshwaran, pre-opening consultant of CNCCII.
The giant LED screen, its electronic variable sound system, a digital twin management platform, the AR Indoor wayfinding system, the virtual meeting set-up tool and the metaverse replica of CNCCII are some of the tech offerings of CNCCII for event planners.
Located in a 780,000 sqm complex which includes two hotels, commercial offices and retail, CNCCII offers 270,000 sqm of purpose-built meeting and event space, 7,300 sqm pillar free Plenary Hall and a total of 100 meeting rooms including 30 VIP rooms.
