The International Congress and Convention Association is launching MeetEurope, a new gathering designed to strengthen the business events industry’s engagement with European policymakers.
The inaugural edition will take place in Brussels on 3–4 February 2027, under the theme “Policy Leadership. Collective Presence. Global Evolution.” Rather than functioning as another conventional industry conference, MeetEurope will focus on helping ICCA members understand the European policy environment, communicate the sector’s value more effectively and develop a stronger collective voice.
Its launch reflects the growing influence of policy decisions on international meetings. Sustainability regulation, mobility, competitiveness, innovation, talent, funding and destination development all shape how associations organise events and where those events can succeed. ICCA argues that the wider economic, scientific and social contribution of business events is still not always understood by those making these decisions.
According to the preliminary programme, the two-day event will combine policy education, practical advocacy work and dialogue with European stakeholders. A visit to the European Parliament will place participants close to the institutions influencing many of the issues under discussion.
Registration opens on 12 October 2026, with a special rate available to ICCA European members. The fee includes the educational programme, welcome reception, dinner and European Parliament visit.
