Around 5,000 surgeons, researchers and medical-technology professionals will travel to Berlin for the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Annual Meeting from 6 to 9 October 2027.
The congress, coming to Berlin for the first time, will take place at CityCube Berlin. Its programme will explore advances in cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery, including new scientific findings, treatment methods and developments in patient care.
Berlin secured the event through a joint bid by visitBerlin’s Berlin Convention Office and Messe Berlin. The win draws on a medical and scientific ecosystem that includes more than 150 hospitals, approximately 35,000 hospital beds and 40 universities and research institutions.
Professor Volkmar Falk, EACTS Past President and Medical Director of the German Heart Center of Charité, said the association’s emphasis on international exchange was particularly well suited to the city. “Discussing new scientific findings together, learning from one another and bringing innovations into clinical practice, that open spirit is a perfect fit for Berlin.”
EACTS 2027 strengthens an already substantial medical-events pipeline for the German capital. The city will also welcome the EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology and the World Conference on Veterinary Parasitology that year.
