The Antwerp Convention Bureau is positioning 2025 as a pivotal year for the city’s global status in healthcare and technology, with a robust line-up of international events.
Defined by institutions such as the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Vaccinopolis, and the Innovation Hub Dunden, Antwerp has become a nexus of medical research and digital health.
This concentration of expertise is reflected in the high-level medical congresses slated for the year, including EMCA (International Institute for Tropical Medicine), the International Sleep and Breathing ESRS Conference, the European Society for Dermatological Research Annual Meeting and the European Conference on Mental Health.
“Antwerp is more than a host city; it’s a thriving centre of medical innovation,” said Tadeja Pivc Coudyser, Head of the Antwerp Convention Bureau. “We provide a collaborative ecosystem where research, education, and entrepreneurship converge.”
Complementing its healthcare credentials, Antwerp continues to strengthen its standing in the tech sector. Notable events such as SuperNova and DDD Europe will showcase cutting-edge developments in AI, software design, and future-forward technologies.
Backed by robust logistics infrastructure – including a seaport fully aligned with EU Good Distribution Practices – the city is well-equipped to meet the needs of high-level gatherings in life sciences and beyond.
