European Association Summit To Be a Gathering for Challenging Times

21st March 2025

The European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) has released the full programme for the 2025 edition of the European Association Summit (EAS), which will take place on 10 April at TheMerode in Brussels.

This year’s theme, “Association Excellence in a Shifting Society,” promises a timely exploration of the sector’s evolving responsibilities in an increasingly volatile global context.

The programme reflects a strong commitment to addressing the pressing geopolitical, societal and organisational shifts facing associations today. A keynote session will set the tone, exploring how associations can build consensus in a world marked by fragmentation and polarisation. This will be followed by in-depth discussions on how to lead and engage communities amidst rising uncertainty, and how to uphold core values when those very principles are under strain.

Later sessions will delve into operational challenges and opportunities, focusing on areas such as upskilling association staff for long-term sustainability, incorporating social responsibility into strategic planning, and enhancing the role of associations as key interlocutors in policy communication.

As in previous years, the summit will conclude with the European Association Awards, celebrating outstanding initiatives and leadership within the sector.
