The Asia Pacific Society of Association Executives will unveil its inaugural State of Asia Pacific Associations report at the APSAE Summit 2026, taking place on 24 July at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
The report is billed as the first dedicated regional study of the association sector across Asia Pacific, examining an ecosystem that spans tens of thousands of organisations in more than 20 economies. It arrives as the region generates over half of global economic growth, while many of its associations remain fragmented, under-resourced and heavily dependent on membership dues.
A central theme will be talent. According to the release, nearly 80% of employers across Asia Pacific report significant difficulty finding skilled people, placing associations in a potentially vital role as providers of professional development, certification and industry standards.
The report will also explore AI adoption, digital transformation, non-dues revenue models, volunteer and leadership pipelines, cross-border collaboration, advocacy, and the role of associations as drivers of economic and community impact.
Prasant Saha, President of APSAE, said the report is “the first serious attempt to understand the state of association leadership across our region on its own terms – not through the lens of models built in other regions.” He added that Asia Pacific’s association sector is “at a critical turning point.”
The findings will be presented first to delegates at the APSAE Summit before being made publicly available after the event.
