Bilbao’s Legacy Playbook Sets the Stage for AIPC 2026

2nd March 2026

The International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) has confirmed Bilbao, Spain, as the host city for its Annual Conference 2026, running from 28 June to 1 July 2026 at the Euskalduna Bilbao Conference Centre.

AIPC’s flagship gathering will bring together senior convention centre executives and industry specialists for three days of strategic exchange focused on the evolving leadership demands facing venues globally.

The programme is organised around three core challenges: Innovation & Transformation, People & Hospitality, and Legacy & Community Impact, combining keynotes, case studies, panel discussions and interactive formats aimed at converting insight into operational leadership action.

Bilbao is positioned as a relevant case study in destination reinvention, with the city’s broader regeneration narrative providing context for discussions on long-term impact.

The social programme includes a Gala Dinner at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, alongside a Basque Evening at Bodega Berroja, and an optional visit to San Mamés Stadium.

The event will also spotlight emerging leaders through AIPC’s Future Shapers initiative, and recognise venue-led creativity via the AIPC Innovation Awards. Registration is open via the conference page.
