MeetEngland Unveils Impact Network

19th February 2026

MeetEngland (part of VisitEngland) has launched the MeetEngland Impact Network, a national initiative designed to connect and amplify the academic and sector leaders who help secure high-value international business events for destinations across England.

The launch, held on 12 February 2026 at Sheffield’s historic Cutlers’ Hall, brought together representatives from 15 cities, alongside 19 ambassadors and industry partners, to spotlight how intellectual capital increasingly influences destination choice in the international meetings market.

MeetEngland says 13 city-led ambassador or sector network programmes now involve more than 2,500 active leaders and have helped secure over 280 new international conferences since 2022, underlining the commercial and reputational value of coordinated advocacy.

Paul Black, Head of Business Events at VisitBritain & VisitEngland, said: “By aligning our strengths and working together, we can amplify England’s impact on the global stage and ensure our cities remain at the forefront of international knowledge exchange.”

The event also introduced the first MeetEngland Roll of Honour, recognising nine ambassadors nominated by their cities for contributions to winning international events.
