Helloworld Travel (HLO) has confirmed that its 2026 Owner Manager Conference (OMC) will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre from 11 to 14 June, in collaboration with Tourism and Events Queensland.
The announcement was made by CEO Andrew Burnes AO on the final day of the 2025 OMC in Vancouver, where 500 delegates gathered.
“We are delighted to be taking our 2026 OMC to Cairns,” Burnes said. “Queensland is a highly popular region, and we are pleased to be supporting tourism in the state.”
Burnes also shared a personal connection to the destination, recalling the origins of AOT in the late 1980s.
“We spent ten years in Cairns setting up and growing the AOT business. Now, almost 40 years later we are heading back to where it all began.”
Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson added: “We’re excited to welcome Helloworld Travel’s network to experience ‘That Holiday Feeling’ in Tropical North Queensland.”
Janet Hamilton, General Manager of the Cairns Convention Centre, emphasised the venue’s unique appeal:
“The Centre is uniquely positioned between two UNESCO World Heritage sites and offers an inspiring platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.”
The 2026 OMC is expected to spotlight the strength of the Queensland tourism sector while offering delegates a compelling programme in a setting of unmatched natural beauty.
