Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) reported a landmark year in 2024, achieving €140.2 million in turnover—surpassing its previous record by over 25%—and delivering a net profit of €20.9 million.
It marks the first positive annual result since the current exhibition complex opened in 2008, reflecting HMC’s strategic realignment and operational resilience.
The CCH – Congress Center Hamburg – welcomed over 142,000 participants across 76 events, including high-profile association congresses such as the ISSCR Annual Meeting and the EANM Congress, which alone brought nearly 9,000 participants for five days of scientific exchange.
The venue also demonstrated its strength in convening around global challenges. The “Hamburg Big 3 of Energy Transition”—a joint presentation of SMM, WindEnergy Hamburg, and the Hydrogen Technology Expo—offered a model for issue-based event clustering, aligning with the strategic aims of many European and international associations.
Looking ahead, a 30% increase in bookings for 2025 and the introduction of new themed events, such as the Global Security and Innovation Summit in partnership with the International Institute for Strategic Studies, point to a continued focus on relevance and thought leadership.
