Dubai shines as a global destination for business events, having secured a record 437 bids for conferences, congresses, and incentive programmes in 2024.
These events, driven by Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau, are expected to attract over 210,000 delegates, contributing to Dubai’s economic growth and aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
The 20% year-on-year increase in successful bids highlights Dubai’s unmatched infrastructure, strategic collaborations, and reputation as a safe and innovative city.
Major events confirmed include the 2025 WFNS World Congress of Neurosurgery, the 2026 Global Symposium on Health System Research, and the 2028 Scientific Assembly and Associated Events of the Committee on Space Research.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, remarked: “Guided by the vision of our city’s leadership, business events continue to play a vital role in bolstering tourism to Dubai and supporting its wider economic priorities. The increase in successful bids for 2024 is a testament to Dubai’s ability to deliver world-class infrastructure, unforgettable experiences, and impactful opportunities for knowledge sharing and innovation.”
By leveraging global trade shows, stakeholder partnerships, and initiatives such as the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme, DBE has solidified Dubai’s position as a global leader in the meetings and events industry.
