In May 2026, ICCA will launch Association Circle, a new learning and networking concept and a refreshed pre-IMEX initiative.
The programme replaces the AES initiative and forms part of ICCA’s renewed lifelong learning strategy, ICCALearn.
For its inaugural edition, ICCA is partnering with Copenhagen Convention Bureau to address risk management, a timely priority for associations and meetings professionals navigating growing operational complexity.
Association Circle is designed to elevate and upskill the meetings and association community through peer learning and strategy-led content, with an emphasis on applying knowledge in real-world contexts. The first edition will take place at the Maritim Hotel Frankfurt on:
- Sunday, 18 May 2026 | 14:00–17:30
- Monday, 19 May 2026 | 08:30–10:30
The inaugural training experience, Copenhagen Risk Navigator: International Strategies & Tools for Business Events, will explore global risk trends affecting meetings and congresses and provide practical risk management tools, with hands-on elements including scenario planning and role-play. The primary geographical focus will be Europe and the United States.
To help shape the session and inform future risk management standards for the business events industry, Copenhagen Convention Bureau — in collaboration with RIMS and FERMA — is inviting industry input via a survey, to be completed by 6 February.
Around 25 international associations and 50 ICCA members are expected, supporting an interactive, global learning environment.
