The BestCities Global Alliance, in partnership with the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), has revealed the finalists for the prestigious 2023 Incredible Impacts Program and unveiled the recipient of the Seed Fund Grant.
These accolades shine a spotlight on the influential role of international association meetings in instigating positive and enduring change.
The finalists for the 2023 Incredible Impacts Program, selected by a panel of their association peers, are:
1. ACWW Women’s Empowerment Summit, Khovd, Mongolia 2023: This summit empowered over 300 women survivors of domestic violence from nomadic communities, promoting community transformation.
2. Environmental Education: Leaving a long-lasting impact, locally and globally 2022: The 22nd World Congress of Soil Science in Glasgow engaged local residents in soil education and set new standards for sustainability.
3. Velo-city 2023 Leipzig – Boosting active mobility in the host city and beyond: The conference in Leipzig aimed to elevate cycling on the political agenda, leading to positive environmental and health benefits.
The Seed Fund Grant, worth $5,000 USD, was awarded to the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS), in recognition of their dedication to eliminating papillomavirus-related diseases, particularly cervical cancer.
The winner will be announced during the ICCA Congress in Bangkok on November 15th.
