OCEC and ICCA Forge Strategic Alliance for Exclusive Association Day in Oman

29th May 2025

The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) and ICCA have formalised a strategic partnership to co-host an exclusive Association Day Oman this December, signed on the sidelines of IMEX Frankfurt 2025.

The curated three-day programme will convene 10 global associations with potential to bring their congresses to the Sultanate.

Designed as an immersive experience, the event will enable delegates to engage directly with Oman’s meetings ecosystem, including the Oman Convention Bureau, sectoral associations, and leading local stakeholders.

Drawing inspiration from a successful 2023 edition, which attracted associations from energy, aquaculture, and cyber security sectors, the 2025 event seeks to deepen ties between international knowledge societies and Oman’s fast-evolving business events industry.

As Oman continues to implement its national tourism strategy, such initiatives are instrumental in driving inward investment and cross-sector knowledge exchange.

Eng. Said Al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC, emphasised the strategic value of the partnership: “Our infrastructure speaks for itself, but what makes Oman compelling is the synergy between our institutions, associations, and government entities. Association Day offers the ideal platform to experience this integrated approach firsthand.”

Dr. Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA, added: “This is not merely a familiarisation trip – it is a platform for legacy-building. Oman’s trajectory aligns with the aspirations of many international associations seeking authentic engagement and regional resonance.”

OCEC’s forthcoming calendar – including events such as the Middle East Investor Relations Association Conference, the 18th Arab Steel Summit, and ICANN’s Annual General Meeting – further illustrates the venue’s ability to host diverse, high-impact gatherings.
