Sarawak marked a major step forward in its business events strategy with the global launch of its revamped Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign at IMEX Frankfurt 2025. Organised by Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), the campaign is introduced under a new tagline—“Driving Impact Together”—and reflects the region’s ongoing commitment to making legacy a core outcome of all events hosted in the state.
The announcement comes as BESarawak nears the final phase of its Legacy Impact Master Action Plan 2023–2025, with an overarching goal to position Sarawak as the “Legacy Capital of Business Events” in Malaysia and Borneo by 2030. The campaign is underpinned by three key initiatives: AI.LEGACY, a data-driven impact management system developed with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak; Legacy360, a strategic platform engaging stakeholders from multiple sectors; and the Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards (BILA), now open to global entries to celebrate events that generate lasting economic, environmental, or social benefits.
According to government and industry leaders, Sarawak’s focus on legacy aligns with broader efforts to drive sustainability and green growth through initiatives like the upcoming Sarawak Sustainability Blueprint 2030. The international debut of the Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign at IMEX reflects this vision, inviting global event organisers to take part in shaping the future of legacy-driven events.
