Sarawak has unveiled AI.LEGACY, the world’s first intelligent impact management system for the business events sector.
Developed by BESarawak in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), the system is designed to track, measure, and report the long-term legacies of events in real time.
Launching the initiative, The Hon. Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, highlighted AI.LEGACY as a milestone in the state’s strategy to position itself as a leader in sustainable business events.
“This locally developed system empowers planners to align their contributions with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
AI.LEGACY focuses on four key objectives: tracking real-time event impacts, offering data-driven insights, enabling AI-powered data analysis, and establishing Sarawak as a legacy-driven destination.
Amelia Roziman, CEO of BESarawak, stressed the importance of moving beyond economic metrics to capture social, environmental, and cultural contributions. “AI.LEGACY simplifies impact reporting and enhances long-term strategic planning.”
Set to launch in Q3 2025, AI.LEGACY will also function as a hub for booking legacy clinic sessions and applying for initiatives such as the Borneo Inspires Legacy Awards 2025.
