SEC Powers Next-Gen Events With SEConnect

14th April 2025

The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) has launched SEConnect, a £4 million investment in digital infrastructure that promises to transform how events are delivered in Glasgow.

Described as the venue’s largest business investment since the opening of the OVO Hydro, SEConnect equips the campus with ultra-fast, secure connectivity, designed to meet the growing demands of data-heavy conferences, exhibitions, and live shows.

“With SEConnect, we’re giving clients the digital firepower to create more interactive, more immersive events,” said Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales. “It’s about speed, security, and scale.”

Built using HPE Aruba technology, the system includes new high-speed network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, enabling SEC to support events with tech demands 10 times greater than COP26.

“Delivering this in a live venue was complex,” said Sammia Shakoor, Head of Project. “We worked event-by-event, adapting on the fly to keep progress steady and disruption minimal.”

SEC’s Head of IT Stuart Melville called the upgrade “a transformative leap forward that gives Glasgow a clear edge on the global event stage.”
