As the world evolves, so do the demands of business events. In response, Singapore-based companies like GEVME, SEARIX, and Unearthed Productions are not only redefining the future of events but also empowering event organisers to achieve greater productivity, seamless experiences, and innovative solutions.
By offering personalised experiences, hybrid models, and data-driven strategies, these companies provide valuable tools that help planners enhance engagement and deliver impactful events, elevating the delegate experience and making events in Singapore more dynamic and efficient than ever before.
“Rapid changes have been inundating the MICE industry for more than three years now,” comments Lance Ng, Group CEO of SEARIX, a company which helps event organisers bring their strategic visions to life with innovative and reliable event technology. “Broad macro technology trends like AR, live streaming, the Metaverse, NFTs and sustainability tech have been taking centre stage one after another in a short span of time. The sector has shown resilience and amazing levels of adaptability, quickly adding these technologies into their events and processes.”
Personalisation & Data-Driven Experiences
A major trend in today’s event landscape is the shift toward personalisation. Thanks to powerful data analytics, event organisers are now able to tailor content and experiences to the individual preferences of attendees. This ability to provide highly relevant and customised experiences is seen as a crucial element of successful events.
Founded in 2013, GEVME has been at the forefront of event technology, and with the rise of Generative AI, the company quickly adapted to evolve its offerings. Recognising the potential of artificial intelligence to revolutionise the MICE industry, GEVME introduced a suite of AI-first products while enhancing its existing solutions. Among its latest innovations are Spark and Snapsight, two platforms designed to streamline event planning and enhance attendee engagement.
For Veemal Gungadin, founder and CEO of GEVME, personalisation is at the heart of the company’s mission. “Personalisation is crucial for any event today,” he says. “The power of data allows us to craft experiences that are not only relevant but dynamic. Our platform, which streamlines planning, marketing, analytics, and operations, enables event organisers to adapt to attendee preferences in real-time, ensuring that the content they engage with resonates.”
Technology, indeed, plays a crucial role in tailoring experiences to each attendee. From pre-event engagement through personalised event apps to AI-powered matchmaking and interactive networking lounges on-site, technology ensures a seamless and engaging journey.
“We leverage AI and digital solutions to create more meaningful interactions—whether through contactless check-ins, gamification, or AI-powered content summarisation,” says Yong Jian Loh, Head of Marketing, Unearthed Productions, an award-winning full-service event management company. Post-event, personalised content delivery keeps engagement alive, reinforcing key takeaways and maximising event impact.
“Singapore provides the ideal environment for this tech-driven personalisation, thanks to its advanced digital infrastructure, strong government support for innovation, and world-class MICE venues designed for seamless tech integration,” Loh adds.
An Ecosystem Driving Innovation
What sets Singapore apart as a global event tech hub is also its collaborative ecosystem. Companies, DMOs, agencies, and similar stakeholders have a strong habit of working together, sharing insights and resources to drive industry advancement.
“I’ve always viewed Singapore as a country with a true startup mindset—quick to spot trends, invest, experiment, learn, and adapt. These are all crucial steps for innovation in virtually any field. What sets Singapore apart is that it applies this approach across the board, in everything it does. That’s why it’s the ideal place to test new ideas and create innovative experiences—not just for the sake of being trendy, but to make a real impact,” says Gungadin.
Ng echoes this sentiment, emphasising the importance of strong foundational infrastructure for event tech innovation. “Reliable mobile and 5G connectivity, stable electrical power, well-developed logistical, production, and rental supply chains, as well as a skilled workforce and transparent regulations—all of these elements make it easier to create seamless tech-driven event experiences in Singapore,” he explains. “Beyond that, the Singapore Tourism Board goes out of their way to support and develop event experiences that harness tech, from the provision of grants to featuring these experiences in their collateral, events and stories.”
For Loh, collaboration is integral to creating more holistic and integrated event experiences. “When we work with others in the industry, we can build more complete solutions that benefit the entire ecosystem,” he says. “The future of events is a collective effort, and Singapore is leading the way in fostering that collaboration.”

Event formats have evolved to incorporate hybrid options, providing a valuable way to engage a wider audience. For Lance Ng, this change presents a unique opportunity to reach participants across borders. “We are moving beyond the idea of simply broadcasting events,” he says, “to creating truly interactive experiences.”
Immersive Technologies: Crafting Engaging Experiences
While hybrid components are gaining traction, the integration of immersive technologies – in the broad sense of the term – is also changing the way attendees experience events. Unearthed Productions, for instance, is tapping into the potential of these technologies to elevate the participant experience.
Case in point: COMEX 2024, a large consumer electronics and IT exhibition which was held from August 29 to September 1 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. It featured an innovative “lucky dip” system: visitors participated by answering a set of survey questions, which then entitled them to use a digital claw machine to pick from an inventory of prizes. The interactive setup attracted hundreds, generating valuable insights into attendee demographics and preferences.
As Ng explains, “The digitalisation of this experience also created opportunities for social media content creation, made the administration of the campaign a breeze by removing the need to consolidate survey responses manually, and provided a way to track the prize inventory.” This approach not only simplified event logistics but also amplified brand visibility online.
Another example of how they’ve redefined MICE event production is their work with Cvent for Cvent Accelerate 2024 conference, held in July at Fairmont Singapore with over 500 participants.
“We incorporated AI-powered translation tools to ensure seamless communication for a global audience, enabling real-time multilingual engagement,” Yong Jian Loh explains. “Instead of traditional loudspeakers, participants wore wireless headsets that let them tune into different discussions or presentations happening in different breakout rooms. These headsets also powered unique networking spaces, allowing attendees to have private, audio-enhanced conversations or listen to guided discussions without disturbing others nearby, thus creating a buzz without disrupting other event activities.”
“Combined with our LED walls and LIVEPosters, which reduced the need for printed materials, and a focus on repurposing content into podcasts and short-form videos, we delivered an event that was sustainable, engaging, and highly impactful,” he adds.

Sustainability & Efficiency: Using Tech to Reduce Environmental Impact
As the events industry continues to grow, sustainability has – indeed – become a top priority. By definition, tech event companies are integrating sustainable practices into their offerings because the technology is used to minimize waste and carbon footprints.
“As part of a larger commitment to meet the goals of The Singapore Green Plan 2030, MICE event organisers are doubling down on sustainable practices at their events,” explains Loh. “These include engaging in contactless registration, leveraging more biodegradable materials and reducing waste.”
“By reducing the need for printed materials and offering digital solutions, we can significantly reduce the environmental impact of events,” adds Gungadin. “It’s about creating solutions that not only enhance the event experience but also help protect the environment.”
With technology playing an increasingly central role in event planning, Singapore offers a strong foundation for innovation, backed by its digital infrastructure and collaborative industry ecosystem. As event formats evolve, planners who choose the city-state for their next event have access to a growing range of tools that enhance engagement, streamline operations, and create more seamless and impactful experiences.
