The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) will be the host of two first-time major events in the city, the Convention of Zonta International 2024 and Baptist World Congress 2025. The conferences are expected to attract more than 8,000 delegates combined and boost the local economy.
Zonta, in particular, aims to provide a global platform for the discussion of issues like women’s rights, equality and climate change. Brisbane’s safe and welcoming environment and BCEC’s high ranking among venues made the city an easy choice for these events.
BCEC General Manager Bob O’Keeffe AM said: “These are but two of 77 conventions confirmed for BCEC during 2021, ensuring a strong pipeline of Business Events into the future for Brisbane and Queensland and boosting the city’s appeal as a destination leading into the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.”
