The Visit Bruges Convention Bureau secured the hosting rights for the CityDNA Autumn Conference and GDS-Forum, slated for October 15-19, 2024.
The event, organized by the European association CityDNA, will gather leaders from 38 countries to discuss industry trends, sustainability, and regenerative destination management.
CityDNA President Petra Stušek commended Bruges for its rich history and sustainability commitment, aligning perfectly with the conference’s focus. GDS-Forum CEO Guy Bigwood praised Bruges as a responsible tourism pioneer, emphasizing the event’s unconventional format.
Mayor Dirk De fauw expressed pride in showcasing Bruges as a sustainable convention destination, thanks to the efforts of Visit Bruges Convention Bureau. Tourism manager Dieter Dewulf highlighted the strategic importance of gaining external perspectives for Bruges’ tourism strategy.
