Tokyo Secures 9th International Symposium on Meniere’s Disease and Inner Ear Disorders for 2027

15th July 2025

Tokyo has been confirmed as host city for the 9th International Symposium on Meniere’s Disease and Inner Ear Disorders (MENIERE 2027), to be held from 24–27 February 2027.

The congress is expected to convene 1,000 delegates from across Japan and internationally, making it one of the most significant gatherings in the field of neuro-otology.

This will be the second time Japan hosts the Symposium, following Kyoto in 2010. First established in Germany in 1981, the event is held roughly every five years and has grown into a crucial platform for scientific exchange around vestibular and auditory disorders.

Tokyo’s successful bid was underpinned by strong institutional backing, notably from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, whose combined financial and in-kind support proved decisive.

The city’s accessibility, infrastructure and appeal as a global meetings hub further contributed to the win.

With preparations now underway, Business Events Tokyo will continue to support the organisers to ensure a high-level, impactful edition in 2027—reinforcing Tokyo’s capacity to deliver specialised international medical congresses.
