From 8–11 July 2025, Antwerp will welcome over 1,000 delegates for the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB) Annual Conference, taking place at the distinctive A Room with a ZOO venue.
Additional attendees are expected to join digitally, reinforcing the event’s global reach.
Celebrated for its interdisciplinary scope, the SEB Annual Conference brings together researchers across the biosciences to share pioneering work, forge collaborations, and address global challenges through experimental biology. The 2025 edition will offer a dynamic programme of plenaries, symposia, workshops, and social events, catering to both early-career and senior scientists.
“We are thrilled to host the Society for Experimental Biology in Antwerp,” said Tadeja Pivc Coudyser, CEO of the Antwerp Convention Bureau. “A Room with a ZOO offers a unique environment for scientific exchange… as does the city itself, which is a health hub and the perfect place for an event that celebrates life science in all its diversity.”
The convention bureau’s vision, “The City is Your Venue,” will resonate throughout the conference, as delegates explore Antwerp’s historic heart, cutting-edge research institutions, and vibrant health innovation ecosystem.
“With its dynamic life sciences community, inspiring venues, and commitment to sustainability and collaboration, Antwerp offers an ideal backdrop for our members to connect and grow,” added SEB CEO Pamela Mortimer.
Backed by institutions such as the University of Antwerp, UZA, and the Institute of Tropical Medicine, and anchored by hubs like Science Park in Niel and Dunden, Antwerp stands out as a European leader in health innovation — making it a fitting stage for SEB 2025.
