Auckland Secures World Dairy Summit for 2026

13th March 2024

Auckland, New Zealand, is set to host the International Dairy Federation’s (IDF) World Dairy Summit in 2026 at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC), drawing over 1,000 industry leaders and experts.

This significant event celebrates the Federation’s 120-year legacy, representing over 75% of global milk production across more than 40 member countries.

New Zealand’s bid, led by the New Zealand International Dairy Federation (IDFNZ) with support from Auckland Convention Bureau (ACB) and Tourism New Zealand, underscores the country’s prominent role in supplying 40% of the world’s traded dairy products.

Convenor Andy Williams said: “Dairy has an important role to play in the sustainability, safety and security of the global nutrient supply, and it is important that New Zealand is at the table when the sector discusses how we will respond to these important issues.”

The summit will feature discussions on dairy’s entire spectrum, from production to policy shaping, and offer networking and technological advancement opportunities for the New Zealand dairy sector.

Head of ACB Ken Pereira says: “Bringing this conference to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is a great opportunity to showcase the region, both as a centre for agri-tech and as a top business events destination. The IDF World Dairy Summit will provide invaluable opportunities for collaboration, promoting New Zealand’s innovation to global leaders in the industry.”
