Children’s Right to Play to be Discussed in Glasgow

7th June 2021

The International Play Association (IPA), which aims to protect, preserve and promote children’s right to play as a fundamental human right, has chosen Glasgow as the location of its 2023 World Congress. The event, which will be held at Glasgow Caledonian University, will attract up to 700 delegates from over 50 countries around the world..

“Following the difficult year our young people have experienced, following Covid-19 related restrictions, it is critical to ensure that we understand the important role that play holds during times of crisis,” said Aileen Crawford, Head of Conventions, Glasgow Convention Bureau.

“As future hosts of the 2023 World Congress we are proud that Glasgow will be involved in sharing creative solutions from across the globe, to help children cope, and thrive. IPA is a wonderful example of face to face meetings as a forum to tackle global issues and drive positive action.”
