City of Frankfurt Welcomes Five New Congress Ambassadors

City Councillor Stephanie Wüst, Head of Frankfurt’s Department of Economic Affairs, recently appointed five esteemed medical professionals as Congress Ambassadors, recognizing their contributions to positioning Frankfurt as Europe’s top congress destination.

The fifteenth annual award ceremony highlighted the vital role of the congress and conference industry in the city’s economic success.

The newly appointed Congress Ambassadors include Professor Christian Grefkes-Hermann, Doctor Susanne Schubert-Bast, Professor Timo Stöver, Professor Udo Rolle, and Professor Thomas Kohnen, representing various medical fields.

Two notable appointees, Professor Grefkes-Hermann and Dr. Schubert-Bast, are set to become Congress Presidents, overseeing the Congress of the German Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and Functional Imaging at Messe Frankfurt’s Kap Europa congress centre in Spring 2024 and 2025.

In 2025, Professor Stöver will lead the German Society for Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery’s 96th annual congress in Frankfurt, attracting around 2,000 participants at the Frankfurt Fair & Exhibition Centre (Messe Frankfurt).

Professor Rolle’s commitment brings the 27th European Congress of Paediatric Surgery to Frankfurt in 2026, while Professor Kohnen’s efforts secure two international congresses in early 2024, enhancing Frankfurt’s reputation as a premier congress destination.

With these appointments, the exclusive circle of Frankfurt Congress Ambassadors now comprises 35 specialists, further solidifying Frankfurt’s global standing in hosting prestigious congresses and conferences.
