Dubai’s Private Healthcare Surge Signals Investor Confidence

5th March 2026

Dubai’s healthcare ecosystem delivered record momentum in 2025, with new figures from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) pointing to rapid expansion in both licensed facilities and the private-sector workforce.

According to DHA statistics, the number of licensed healthcare facilities rose to around 5,800 in 2025, up from 5,340 in 2024. The ecosystem now spans 55 hospitals, 68 specialised clinics, 60 day-surgery centres, 70 general dental clinics, 126 general medical clinics, 222 home healthcare centres, and 101 alternative medicine centres.

The private healthcare workforce also expanded sharply, exceeding 69,400 professionals in 2025, compared with 64,100 in 2024, underlining Dubai’s continued ability to attract international clinical and allied health talent.

Commenting on the trajectory, DHA Director General Dr Alawi Alsheikh-Ali described the private sector as a core pillar of the health system, pointing to infrastructure upgrades, smart solutions and specialised services as evidence of pace and ambition: “rapid developments in infrastructure, smart solutions, and specialised services… demonstrate the sector’s ability to keep pace with Dubai’s ambitions.” He added that the expansion reflects strong investor confidence in Dubai’s regulatory environment and incentives for global healthcare players.

Dr Asma Al Sharif, Acting CEO of DHA’s Health Regulation Sector, said the growing number of hospitals, specialised centres and internationally accredited facilities strengthens Dubai’s standing as a destination for health tourism and wellbeing: “further strengthens Dubai’s position as a preferred destination for health tourism and a primary choice for those seeking quality of life and wellbeing.”
