Düsseldorf will host the 35th International Congress of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery from 15 to 18 June 2027, following the official contract signing at Düsseldorf City Hall on 3 June 2026.
The congress, known as EAES 2027, is expected to bring 1,500 to 2,000 specialists in endoscopic surgery to the state capital, reinforcing Düsseldorf’s standing as a congress, medical and science destination. The event will take place at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf, whose infrastructure and international congress experience were central to the city’s successful bid.
Dr Stephan Keller, Mayor of the State Capital Düsseldorf, welcomed the decision, stating: “Düsseldorf is a connected business and innovation hub with strong expertise in medicine, healthcare and life sciences, as well as modern congress infrastructure. EAES 2027 will bring medical expertise from around the world to our city and generate additional economic impetus.”
Founded in 1990, the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery has grown into a leading organisation in endoscopic surgery and interventional techniques, with activities spanning education, training, research, technology development and professional exchange. Its annual congress is the association’s flagship event, with previous host destinations including London, Barcelona and Rome. In 2026, the congress will take place in Athens.
For Düsseldorf Congress, which operates the CCD and markets key event spaces in the city, the win highlights the role of targeted congress acquisition and strong municipal cooperation in attracting specialist international meetings.
“Congresses are places where future topics are discussed,” said Maria Kofidou, Managing Director of Düsseldorf Congress GmbH. “EAES 2027 is about medical innovation, international collaboration and exchange within a highly specialised professional community.”
