Glasgow and the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) continue to see rising delegate numbers, with major European congresses choosing the city.
The recent European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) conference attracted over 7,000 participants, the largest in ESTRO’s history.
This follows the 50th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) with 4,700 attendees, and the European Conference on Cystic Fibrosis, which drew 2,200 professionals.
Upcoming events include the European Association of Allergy & Clinical Immunology (EAACI) in 2025 and the European Renal Association (ERA) in 2026, set to bring over 17,000 delegates combined. The AC Forum’s Annual Meeting will also be held at SEC in January 2025.
“There has been tremendous leadership from our ambassadors and the scientific community within Glasgow to attract and grow these exceptional meetings,” said Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at SEC.
Aileen Crawford, Head of Tourism and Conventions at the Glasgow Convention Bureau, echoed this sentiment, noting the significance of Glasgow’s collaborative “Team Glasgow” approach in fostering the city’s reputation as a leading congress destination.
