BestCities Global Alliance is organizing this year’s Global Forum in Vancouver, Canada on December 8 – 11with ‘Fresh Perspectives’ and registration is now open.
Participants will benefit from a research on sustainable, purpose-driven events resulting from a comprehensive Legacy Impact Study conducted and presented by Capilano University’s School of Tourism Research and Destination Vancouver.
An open forum and different engagement activities are designed to guide delegates towards creative ideas and solutions that they can apply to their own organizations.
A line-up of speakers like Kara Walker, Dr. Jeff Wahl and Gwendal Castellan will share thoughts on sustainable events and best practices.
What is different in the format this year is that BestCities is expanding registration for the Global Forum beyond association planners to include meeting planners from any discipline who arrange large international events that rotate around the world.
Michael Drake, Director of Sales, Meetings and Conventions, Canada and International, said: “The collaborative knowledge sharing of conference legacies and best practices at this year’s Forum hosted in Vancouver is an important global conversation. There is noticeable interest from Vancouver’s leaders in how conferences impact host communities and the findings from Capilano University’s research team will be a meaningful step in increasing the overall sustainability of events.”
